Rolling Pin Press is an independent publisher of practical books on cooking, home, and craft. We publish work built to outlive the moment that made it possible.

better than grandma’s by justin ellen

Your Grandma’s recipes have met their match.

Inspired by my Nana, who made me fall in love with baking, these 80+ classic recipes are reimagined to be even better—and completely foolproof. With clear instructions and step-by-step videos accompanying each and every one, you can’t mess them up. No shortcuts. Everything homemade.

Desserts done so well, your grandma might just ask you for the recipe.

A press for books made to be used.

Rolling Pin Press was founded on a simple conviction. The best how-to books are the ones that get used. The cookbook with butter on its pages. The craft manual with notes from three different hands. We are a new publisher, and we are taking our time. We publish a deliberately small list, working closely with authors whose voices are too distinct to be lost to the algorithm.

Our authors are cooks, makers, and writers who have spent years quietly refining a craft and finally have something to say about it. Every title is shepherded by editors, testers, designers, and photographers who care as much about the way a book feels in the hand as the way it earns its place on the shelf. If a recipe doesn't work on the third test, it doesn't go in the book.

A practical book should earn its keep slowly. We publish for the long shelf life. The splattered, sun-faded, lived-in kind.
